his racing
since the beginning. He Sponsored his first few cars with his
construction company Carson Construction.

Kenneth A Carson III received NYSCCA's Outstanding Performance in 2005 at Utica-Rome Speedway. Jeff Budine, a NASCAR star, presented the award to him and autographed it. ![]() Ken "Buck" Carson Sr. (1969) next to his car in their driveway in Cooperstown. Carson Racing started with Kenneth Carson Sr. and his driver "Moose" Cary. Ken Carson Sr. owned a modified 1939 Ford Coupe with a small block and a Chevy motor. Then they were called Sportsman's but they were more similar to today's modified cars. He and his driver worked with several other racing teams such as the Willie Wust #88 car in the late 1960's and a modified car for Lydle Smith out of Norwich, NY. He also worked with McCredy Chevrolet out of Sherburne, NY on the #33 car in the 1970s. Bill Wimble drove that car and won several championships working his way into NASCAR. Ken Carson Sr. raced his car and worked with several others on the Midstate Speedway, Skyline Speedway and Five Mile Point Speedway.
